My name is Carol Smith. I have been married to my husband Johnnie for almost 53 years. We have two grown children. Anita is married and has two daughters and David is married and has two girls and a boy. I love being a grandmother! I worked with children in the NHCS for 28 years and loved teaching but I love retirement also! I often spend time at my church working in many different capacities. This is a very important part of my life. I enjoy sitting on the beach with family and friends. Boating and kayaking are my favorite ways of enjoying God’s creation. Johnnie, Daisy (my dog) and I enjoy walking together. I love animals and particularly dogs. I have always had a dog or dogs. Daisy is my two year old parti poodle. She is a certified therapy dog. Together we have spent many hours making people happy. We have been invited to the hospital, rehabs, senior center, UNCW, CFCC, the library, the Wilson Center, different fun days and even a bar for a fund-raiser. I am so proud of Daisy’s accomplishments. She has her AKC Canine Good Citizen certification. In tricks she 5 titles AKC Trick Dog Novice, AKC Trick Dog Intermediate, AKC Trick Dog Advanced, AKC Trick Dog Performer and AKC Trick Dog Elite Performer. Teaching Daisy tricks has been a wonderful way for us bond and her to learn she can trust me. Daisy has accomplished a lot and I am proud of her but really she is just my friend! She enriches my life and makes me happy.
