Class Descriptions

Please find the descriptions of our Classes on this page.  Also, the schedule as we plan it before registration and Orientation occur.

We are flexible in with our classes, in the hope of meeting the needs of our prospective Student Teams, so the type of class, day and time are subject to change.  However, the Instructors of the classes will contact their Students before the first class meeting to confirm day and time.

Monday

Monday classes meet every Monday evening except the fourth Monday of the month (which is our group’s meeting night) and the five Monday nights of the year during which Orientation is held.

In our continuing effort to keep class sizes small AND allow all who wish to take classes with ADTC to attend, times and class levels and/or subject matter are subject to change. Classes begin on Monday nights at 6:30 pm. Although “Intro to Rally”, “Intermediate Rally” and “Competition Rally” are the classes slated, if, for example, we do not have any students wishing to take the Intro class, and have a higher number of Intermediate Rally students, we will hold two Intermediate Rally classes and no Introduction to Rally and so on….. we try to accommodate everyone’s wishes!

6:30 pm (time subject to change)   Rally Novice Obedience

This class is open to dogs and handlers who have completed at least one session of PreNovice Obedience training AND who have good heeling skills (tight leashes are a big ‘no no’ in Rally!) and reliable sits, downs and recalls. This class may be repeated as needed.

This class helps the Beginning Handler learn the in’s and out’s of handling one’s own dog(s) in the Conformation ring and/or helps the Experienced Handler fine tune his/her companion for showing!!

The following classes are scheduled as needed:

*Advanced level competition obedience including retrieves, scent work, jumping, signals, etc

Therapy Dog Certification is through Therapy Dogs, Inc. Certification. ADTC offers Therapy Dog Certification as a Public Service.
