Session III is underway. In response to news of a brand new CANINE VIRUS/FLU that began in FL & GA 6 weeks ago, ADTC Members are in touch with contacts all over the southeastern states, doing our best to keep abreast of potential spreading. There have been no outbreaks locally and we have not heard of any outbreaks anywhere close to us. However, we are being very cautious in order to protect the dogs currenty training at our facility. We posted informational signs at our facility and messages expressing our concern about the spread of this dangerous disease. If caught early, it can be treated successfully, but dogs have been lost to this virus w/ owners thinking the intestinal upset is caused by something their pet ate. If your dog displays any unusual symptoms, please do not wait, have them checked by their Vet asap. In response to this very real threat, a group of our Members have done a preventative cleaning of our facility, using products that should kill any germs. We have cleaned the entire building, including floor, crates, chairs and any other surface that might contain any germs. We are still holding classes, but please use your own good judgement as to whether your dog should attend during this possible crisis. Please check back here on our website, where we will do our best to report any incidences of this disease. Our formal address is: 13100 US Hwy 17 S. Hampstead, NC 28443, so for those of your who have a GPS in your vehicle, this address should lead you right to us!  Our little driveway isn’t actually a street, tho the street sign at the top of the driveway states:  McFayden Court. For those of us who do not have a GPS, the directions below are right on and we are hopeful you can find us!! Ya’ll come see us, ya hear?!?! 🙂

Directions to Azalea Dog Training Club (courtesy of Bob Jones…. thanks Bobby!):

From U. S. Highway 17 South: continue south through Hampstead, NC.  Follow U. S. Highway 17 South 1.35 miles past N. C. Highway 210 in Hampstead. You will need to make a U-Turn just past the building at the entrance to Whitebridge Subdivision. Once you make the U-Turn, ADTC will be on your right.

From U. S. Highway 17 North: continue through Wilmington on U. S. Highway 17 North. Stay on U. S. Highway 17 North at Interstate 140. Continue on U. S. 17 to Sidbury Road. Continue on U. S. 17 past Sidbury Road, past Scott’s Hill Loop Road, past Scotts Hill Animal Hospital, to ADTC on the right just past the entrance to Whitebridge Subdivision.

From Interstate 40 West: Follow Interstate 40 East until you get to the exit for Interstate 140. Take the exit to Hampstead and Topsail Island Beaches. Interstate 140 ends at U. S. Highway 17. Continue on U. S. 17 to Sidbury Road. Continue on U. S. 17 past Sidbury Road, past Scott’s Hill Loop Road, past Scotts Hill Animal Hospital, to ADTC on the right just past the entrance to Whitebridge Subdivision.

Additional directions off I-40: (courtesy of Nancy Parrott….. thanks Nanc!) using Castle Hayne exit, turn right onto Holly Shelter Road, follow this road until you come into Hampstead, NC. Turn right onto US 17 at the traffic light, follow directions already given from Hampstead.
